  IKEBANA

Ikebana
Ikenobō School of Ikebana, Kyoto
29 August - 7 September 2003

The art of Ikebana is more than 500 years old and, besides a pure joy in flowers, it maintains its own philosophy reflected in the language of plants. The Ikenobo School of Kyoto is the origin of Japanese Ikebana. Modern as well as traditional, this exhibition presents the everlasting beauty of Nature in artfully arranged forms and sizes rarely seen in Europe. On display will also be an original reproduction of a medieval Ikebana arrangement that rises to 3 meters in height.
